what we do

Crop Matters offers contract research to evaluate agricultural products in a regional setting. Crop Matters provides companies an unbiased assessment of new or existing agricultural amendments, varieties, and practices.  The data obtained and summarized can be an invaluable tool for salesmen and can supply an understanding of the product’s mechanism and effect in local cropping systems. We also work with co-ops and growers directly to identify on-farm problems and research potential solutions.

Studies can be placed in irrigated field/row crops in the Columbia Basin, tree fruit in north-central Washington, or dryland crops in Washington/Idaho.

Randomized, replicated plots can be established, or data can simply be gathered from a large scale grower trial.  The data collected is entirely dependent upon customer request and interest.  Potential research project examples include:
  • Yield evaluation
  • Plant growth progress
  • Harvest and post-harvest crop quality metrics
  • Pesticide, herbicide, or fungicide efficacy
  • Soil and plant nutrition status

Findings will be compiled in professionally-formatted reports which include photographs, simple and effective graphs, statistical analyses, and summary verbiage. Data can also be shared via ARM.

Study location, product application logistics, amount and type of data collection, and fee are all negotiable and dependent upon customer request.
